How I Work

How I Work

Independent support without adding unnecessary complexity.

I adapt my involvement to the scale, stage and risk profile of the project.

01

Understand

I begin by establishing what the client is trying to achieve and what information already exists.

This may include project scope, design information, procurement status, budgets, programme, current appointments and key risks.

02

Verify

I compare information across drawings, specifications, BOQs, quotations, contracts, supplier responses, trackers and stakeholder feedback.

This is often where inconsistencies first become visible.

03

Prioritise

Not every issue requires escalation.

I separate operational noise from decisions that may materially affect:

  • Capital
  • Programme
  • Quality
  • Design
  • Commercial position
  • Delivery
04

Recommend

The client should not receive a list of problems without a position.

Where possible, reporting identifies:

  • What happened
  • Why it matters
  • What the options are
  • What I recommend
  • When a decision is required
05

Follow Through

Where the assignment includes implementation, I remain involved through supplier coordination, commercial discussions, production, logistics, site follow-up or handover as required.

Engagement Structure

Assignments are structured around the requirements of the project rather than a generic consultancy package.

Defined-Scope Assignments

Reviews, audits, tender interventions and value-engineering sprints are generally structured as a fixed professional fee against an agreed scope and deliverable.

Ongoing Assignments

Longer-term Owner's Representation, procurement management and project advisory assignments are typically structured through a pre-agreed monthly retainer.

The required level of involvement, reporting structure, expected duration and site presence are agreed before the engagement begins.

This provides clear visibility over professional costs while allowing the mandate to reflect the evolving needs of the project.

Independence

My role is to provide an independent position.

Where suppliers, specialists or consultants are sourced for a project, recommendations are based on the needs of the assignment rather than a pre-selected product catalogue.

This allows procurement and project decisions to remain aligned with the client's commercial and project interests.

Discuss the project.

A first conversation is enough to determine the right level of involvement for your assignment.
